Jared Hogan was born in Oklahoma and raised in South Carolina. The son of a pastor, his upbringing in the evangelical South shaped his view of the world and how he captures it. His work is driven by a deep fascination with belief. How it saves us, how it fails us and how it defines the spaces we inhabit, told through a lens that’s both deeply personal and visually precise.
Whether directing music videos, narrative films or branded work, Jared brings a sense of stillness and emotional weight to everything he touches. He’s collaborated with artists like Joji, Gracie Abrams and Montell Fish and his films have screened at Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying festivals around the world and have been featured on Directors Notes, Short of the Week and Vimeo.
Now based in Los Angeles, he continues to build a body of work that feels intimate, unsettling and entirely his own.
+ Directorial work has been featured on Rolling Stone, Billboard, Complex, Pigeons and Planes, Highsnobiety, Paste, Time, People Magazine, Spin, MTV, VH1, Vimeo, Short of the Week, Directors Notes, 1.4, FrameSet and Booooooom among others and has been screened at Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying festivals around the world.
++ Is currently developing feature film projects under his banner Okemah and co-runs his horror-focused production company Chapel with his producing partner Brian Tetsuro Ivie. His feature film “Jackrabbit” is in preproduction with production scheduled for late summer 2025.
